Banners are created in Photoshop using this template:

This template contains all possible sizes including the standard items such as the CTA and brandline.
This template project may contain more sizes than you need deliver, so first step is to remove all the unused artboards from the project. Then, create another artboard called ‘_PREVIEW’ which you drag out over all other artboards like so:
In the layers panel, you place the ‘_PREVIEW’ artboard on the bottom.
If the template doesn’t have the size that you need you can add it by going in the menu → Layer → New → Art board.
Give it the name of the size that you need I.E. 100x100
Then set the size of the art board to 2x the size that you need, I.E. 100x100 becomes 200x200.
When creating static banners, your project is now ready to start working in.
Dynamic banners (animated banners) follow the same set up as static banners, but when prepping the project we add Layer Comps for each slide of the banner. So if your dynamic banner has three slides, we need three Layer Comps.
Also in the ‘_Preview’ art board we add three text layers that change when selecting the other Layer Comps.

⚠️ When working with Layer Comps you should be aware of how they work. When switching to another Layer Comp it basically turns on/off layers in the project. So each slide should have its own matching layers, you cannot use the same layer for all the layer comps if the content is different. This also means that you should organise your layers properly to avoid it becoming a huge mess.

When working with Dynamic banners, it is important to structure the project. Use numbered folders to put assets for every slide in the correct folder.
