We have a total of 7 C4D (4 Maxon One and 3 C4D Commercial) licenses and 9 (5 Redshift and 4 Maxon One) Redshift licenses. On top of this there are 2 C4D Renderfarm Floating licenses.

Types of licenses

• Maxon One: Full inclusive C4D, Redshift and Maxon license
• C4D Commercial: Full C4D license but without Redshift/Maxon extras
• Redshift: Redshift only license - used together with C4D Commercial licenses
• C4D Commandline Floating: These are the C4D + Redshift licenses ONLY for the renderfarm

• Main (staff) PCs - Maxon one
• Render (or freelance) PCs - C4D Commercial + Redshift
• Render only PCs - Commandline Floating license

C4D License Assignment

The c4d licenses are node locked. When we have a lot of freelancers, it might happen that we need to reassign c4d licenses between machines. Go to the maxon.net website and log into the [email protected] account. Find the password in 1Password. Navigate to the licenses page at the middle top.

Hit the Release button next to a worker to release it’s C4D license. It is now free to be reassigned. Upon releasing a license, the worker also lost its Redshift license. This will need to be reassigned regardless of it having a C4D license to make sure it works on the renderfarm.

Open the Maxon App on the PC that had its license released. Navigate to the Products page and hit the Assign Licence button on in the Redshift section. When hitting the button select the Redshift option.

To assign a freed up C4d license, open the Maxon App on the PC that requires a license. Navigate to the Products page and hit the Assign License button in the C4d section. When hitting the button select the sort of license that has been released.
