Disclaimer:
This is our basic workflow. We've made some updates that aren't yet reflected in this document. These are minor details intended to enhance the workflow. As soon as you begin, one of our media managers will guide you through it.
Because our projects are usually quite big in terms of deliverables we utilise Premiere not just for offline edit, but also build back online’d timelines inside Premiere. This means that the latest version of a sequence will always live inside of Premiere and we have one place that acts as a central hub for our projects.
<aside> ☝ From September 2022 we no longer divide the project in an offline and online phase but rather have all sequences live in one bin called ‘sequences’. For example when an edit V07 is locked → we grade → we version up to V08 and rebuild the grade there.

Inside Premiere we have three main folders - the most important thing is to keep organised and make sure that at all times someone who opens up your project can easily see what is the latest version of a sequence is. You are allowed to add extra folders if needed.
Please do not remove any folders, you might not need them in the current state of the project but chances are, somebody else needs them in a later stage of the project.
A note about the ‘Final delivery’ folder - this folder is meant only for importing and checking the final delivery renders. All editing must be done in the ‘Sequences’ section of the project.
During offline edit it is important that we organise our project well, we collect all assets in the assets folder and name our sequences according to the asset list.
Standard graphics, music and fonts can be found on the server, please copy them over to the project folder or ask a mediamanager to assist you. Once you have an edit and you are ready to export for review, please export to the Client WIPS mount and upload to Frame.io - read more on that later in this article.
In the sequences section of the project you will also find a folder ‘Output’ this is what we use to prep sequences for grading, audio and VFX work. Whenever you need to prep something, copy your sequence to the corresponding folder and prep the sequence there. This way we work in an non destructive manner.
Our VFX workflow is really important to understand, please read about our Daytona Method here:
If anything is unclear please ask one of our editors to assist you as this is a very important step.

When we prep for audio we always render a ProRes Proxy ref render and export an AAF with the following settings:
